Director General Cao welcomed the press corps, and briefed the corps on Shenzhen’s last socioeconomic developments. She encapsulated the city’s features with five key words, namely “youth, innovation, greenery, openness and humanity”. “Shenzhen embraces the world”, as is mentioned in Ten Philosophies of Shenzhen Municipality. The city has established sister-city or friendship city relations with 90 cities from 57 countries globally, among which Colombo, Sri Lanka’s capital city, is one of them. Shenzhen and Colombo have been maintaining active exchanges and cooperation in various sectors. It is hoped, she added, that the press corps could, through the visit, gain a better understanding of Shenzhen and tell a better story of Shenzhen and China with their sophisticated narratives.

Members of the press corps marveled at the achievements of Shenzhen’s high-quality development, and said that they would spread to their readers Shenzhen’s innovative development philosophies, inclusive and friendly attitude and what they saw and felt in the city.
