On April 14, Cao Saixian, Director General of the Shenzhen Foreign Affairs Office, held a video meeting with Aretha Philip, Chief of Strategic Protocol and External Relations of the City of Toronto, Canada. The two sides jointly reviewed the achievements of friendship-city exchanges and discussed prospects for future cooperation. 曹赛先首先简要介绍了深圳市经济发展情况。她谈道，近年来，深圳和多伦多市在友好交流城市合作框架下合作紧密，交流频繁。明年是两市建立友好交流城市十周年。深圳和多伦多应以此为契机，进一步深化两地友城关系，拓宽在经贸往来、科技创新、文化艺术、教育等领域合作，丰富友城交往内涵。 Cao Saixian briefed on Shenzhen's economic development. She noted that under the framework of friendship city cooperation, Shenzhen and Toronto have maintained close collaboration and frequent exchanges in recent years. With 2024 marking the 10th anniversary of the establishment of friendship city relations between the two cities, she proposed that both cities seize this milestone to further deepen bilateral ties, expand cooperation across trade, technological innovation, cultural arts, education and other field for more substantive friendship city exchanges. 阿蕾莎谈到，多伦多重视与深圳的交往合作，希望有机会能推动更多的多伦多代表团访问深圳，加强两地互识互信，利用好政府和民间资源，在可持续发展、数字经济、智慧城市建设等领域开展更多务实合作，造福两地人民。 Aretha Philip expressed Toronto's commitment to strengthening cooperation with Shenzhen. She conveyed aspirations to facilitate more Toronto delegations visiting Shenzhen to enhance mutual understanding, leveraging both governmental and civil resources to advance pragmatic collaboration in the areas of sustainable development, digital economy, smart city construction for the benefit of citizens in both cities.
