市委外办主任曹赛先会见马来西亚驻华大使诺曼·穆罕默德一行

  1月23日,市委外办主任曹赛先会见到访的马来西亚驻华大使诺曼·穆罕默德一行,马来西亚新任驻广州总领事韩礼仕陪同出席。

  On January 23, Director General Cao Saixian of Shenzhen Foreign Affairs Office met with a visiting delegation led by His Excellency Dato' Norman Muhamad, Ambassador of Malaysia to China, joined by Mr. Harris Alwi, newly appointed Consul General of Malaysia in Guangzhou.

  曹赛先主任对诺曼大使一行的到访表示欢迎,并对韩礼仕总领事履新表示祝贺。她介绍说,去年是深圳经济特区建立45周年,深圳在外贸进出口、科技创新、工业、民生等领域均取得可喜成绩。今年,APEC第三十三次领导人非正式会议将在深圳举办,我们将借此机会努力建设高水平对外开放窗口,加快打造更具全球影响力的现代化国际大都市。深圳与马来西亚交往合作密切,在经贸投资、文化旅游、新兴产业领域合作基础良好、前景广阔,希望双方进一步加强各领域务实合作。 

  Director General Cao welcomed the delegation, and congratulated Consul General Harris for his new role. Last year marked the 45th anniversary of the founding of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, she said, adding that the city has enjoyed impressive progress in various fields, including foreign trade, technological innovation, industry, and people’s well-being. This year, the 33rd APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting will take place in Shenzhen. By availing of this opportunity, solid efforts are to be made to build Shenzhen into a window of high-level opening-up, and to be accelerated to build it into a modern cosmopolis with more global influence. Shenzhen and Malaysia have seen close exchanges and cooperation, and promise a great foundation and broad prospect of cooperation in such areas as economy and trade, culture and tourism, and emerging industries. Hopefully, the two sides work to further pragmatic cooperation across the board.


  诺曼大使对曹赛先主任的热情接待表示感谢。他谈到,中国已连续17年成为马来西亚最大贸易伙伴,两国关系保持着良好发展势头。大使还重点介绍说,马来西亚是伊斯兰金融中心之一,去年担任东盟轮值主席国期间成功举办东盟—海合会峰会,希望与深圳等中国城市拓展绿色金融、科技金融等领域的友好交流合作。

  Ambassador Dato' Norman thanked Director General Cao for her hospitality. He noted that China has been Malaysia’s largest trading partner for 17 years running, and that the two countries have maintained good momentum in bilateral relations. Ambassador Dato' Norman laid emphasis on Malaysia’s role as one of the financial hubs of Islam world, adding that during its rotating presidency of ASEAN, Malaysia convened a successful ASEAN-GCC Summit. That said, it is hoped that his country will conduct friendly exchanges and cooperation with Shenzhen and other Chinese cities in green finance and technology finance.
